Destiny Nayobe Arriaga, 18, of Bridgeport, died on Friday, Aug. 9, following a crash on Thursday, Aug. 8, when the driver, of the Honda Accord she was a passenger in went down an embankment on I-95 in Stratford, said the Connecticut State Police
She attended Harding High School and completed junior year, her obituary said.
"She had many dreams and aspirations," the obituary said.
In her free time, Destiny enjoyed playing basketball and listening to music. She was also known for her great sense of humor and her love for her family, the obituary said.
She is survived by her mother, Yanira Martinez (Leroy Isaac); father, Willie Arriaga; maternal grandparents, Marta Hegab, Julio Martinez; paternal grandparents, Jose (Rosie)Arriaga, Denise Gomez; sister, Charisma Arriaga; brother, Isaiah Isaac; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, and from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave., Bridgeport, Interment will follow.
